Ground beef  is the most popular meat in America. What makes ground beef so acceptable on tables across America? It is versatile, economical, nutritious and satisfying. There is no limit to the number  dishes that can be prepared . Ground beef is also one of the easiest meats to prepare , for busy homemakers to serve our families. CHEESEBURGER PIE  is an inexpensive dish to prepare and always delicious .

1 lb. ground beef

1/2 tsp. ground oregano

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. ground pepper

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped bell pepper (optional)

1/2 cup fine bread crumbs

1 8-ounces can tomato sauce

1  9-inch, unbaked pie crust

2 cups grated cheese (your favorite preference)

1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup milk

1/2 tsp. dry mustard

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup chili sauce

Cook ground beef in small amount of hot oil in skillet  until brown;stir in oregano, 1 tsp. salt, pepper, onion, bell pepper,fine bread crumbs and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Press mixture into unbaked pie crust. Blend cheese, egg, milk, and 1/2 tsp. salt, dry mustard, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over beef mixture. Bake preheated 425-degree oven for about 30 minutes; cut into wedges. Heat remaining tomato sauce and chili sauce until warm and pour over  CHEESE BURGER PIE before serving. Cut pie into wedges. Serves 8. Serve with your favorite vegetables. Tossed salad with your favorite dressing    goes well with this dish. This is an easy to make dish  with minimal prep time.  When serving my children and grandchildren over the years, I have served Tator tots and baked beans  along with a cookie and it makes for a tasty meal.  Finding something that the whole family likes to eat is often difficult, but ground beef seems to please people of all ages. Whether you are serving a lunch,dinner, buffet, or having a party, CHEESE BURGER PIE , is usually a real crowd pleaser. Invite friends  over and enjoy.
